JAMESTOWN, NY – April 2, 2026 – The City of Jamestown is proud to announce the appointment of Ryan Roush as Acting Fire Chief of the Jamestown Fire Department, effective immediately.
Chief Roush brings nearly two decades of dedicated service, experience, and leadership to this role. Since joining the Jamestown Fire Department in February 2007, he has built a distinguished career grounded in professionalism, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to protecting the community.
Throughout his tenure, Roush has advanced through the ranks, earning promotions to Lieutenant in April 2016 and Battalion Chief in June 2022. In each position, he has demonstrated the ability to lead under pressure, support his fellow firefighters, and uphold the highest standards of the department.
In addition to his operational responsibilities, Chief Roush has served as a Municipal Fire Instructor for several years, playing a key role in training and mentoring personnel. His work has helped strengthen the department’s readiness and ensure that firefighters are well-prepared to respond to emergencies. He also serves as a Fire Investigator, bringing specialized knowledge and attention to detail in determining the causes of fires and supporting public safety efforts.

As Acting Fire Chief, Roush will oversee all department operations, including emergency response, personnel management, training, and fire prevention initiatives. His leadership will help ensure the department continues to provide the highest level of service to the residents of Jamestown.
