Equipment Maintenance

The mission of Fleet Services is to provide customer agencies with safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation. We also strive to deliver fleet-related support services tailored to the operational needs of each department while maintaining vehicle value and equipment investment. Our goal is to be recognized as a dependable service provider, supporting city operations at the most economical cost possible.

Services & Scope of Operations:


Fleet Services operates as a customer-focused organization, providing a wide range of services, including:

  • Asset management services
  • City fleet management utilizing life cycle costing
  • Vehicle and equipment acquisition and disposal
  • Writing vehicle specifications
  • Upfitting of new vehicles
  • Maintenance and repair services
  • Implementing preventative maintenance programs for all city-owned vehicles and equipment
  • Providing field repair services for construction and off-road equipment
  • Conducting computer diagnostics for vehicles
  • Utilizing a network of commercial shops for specialized and overflow work
  • Maintaining a computerized shop record-keeping system
  • Managing parts and materials
  • Operating a stockroom that supplies repair parts for vehicles and equipment
  • Implementing a computerized barcode inventory system
  • Offering equipment recovery and hauling services
  • Providing heavy equipment hauling
  • Offering towing and recovery services
  • Conducting welding and fabrication services, including MIG, TIG, aluminum, and stainless steel welding

Key Operating Statistics & Financial Statement:


The City owns and operates a fleet of over 400 vehicles and equipment units, with a total replacement value of $27 million. These assets range from small equipment like lawn mowers and cars to larger vehicles such as pickup trucks, dump trucks, excavators, and fire trucks.

City departments rely on vehicles and equipment to fulfill their core services. These assets are among the most essential resources for the city. Fleet Services employs eight skilled technicians across two shifts, ensuring efficient and safe operations for all departments.
