NEW ALSTAR EMS AGREEMENT ENSURES CONTINUOUS EMERGENCY CARE FOR JAMESTOWN RESIDENTS
JAMESTOWN, NY – The City of Jamestown has finalized a new agreement with Alstar EMS, continuing a partnership that has supported Jamestown for decades. Since 1988, Alstar has been the City’s primary Emergency Medical Services Response Agency, providing ambulance transportation and on-scene medical care in close coordination with the Jamestown Police and Fire Departments.
“This agreement keeps essential emergency medical services in place for Jamestown,” said Mayor Kimberly Ecklund. “Alstar has been a trusted partner for decades, and this agreement ensures these critical services continue without any cost to taxpayers and without interruption.”
Alstar EMS responds to more than 5,000 calls in Jamestown each year. The agreement preserves the City’s two-tiered response system, allowing police, fire, and EMS teams to work together efficiently to deliver reliable care to residents.
“Our priority is to ensure that every call for help in Jamestown receives a dependable response,” said Interim Fire Chief Ryan Roush. “This agreement strengthens a partnership that has consistently served the City and ensures our emergency system continues operating without interruption to meet the needs of residents.”
Through the City’s partnership with UPMC-Chautauqua, Jamestown Fire Department members will continue to have access to training at the Alstar EMS Training Center on East Third Street. This training strengthens the City’s emergency response capabilities and supports high-quality medical care for residents.
“This agreement strengthens our ability to serve Jamestown efficiently and safely, ensuring residents have access to the emergency care they need, precisely when they need it,” said David Thomas, Executive Director of W.C.A. Services Corporation/Alstar EMS.
The City of Jamestown remains committed to maintaining a coordinated, reliable emergency response system that safeguards public safety and provides professional medical care for all who call Jamestown home.
