Healthy Homes Production Grant (HHP)

As of November 2023, the Healthy Homes Production Grants application process is closed and no longer accepting new applications. Current applications are being reviewed in the order they were submitted, according to their timestamp.

What is the Healthy Home Production Grant?

The Healthy Homes Production (HHP) Grant is a city-wide initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) and administered by the City of Jamestown Department of Development (DOD), in collaboration with the Chautauqua County Health Department. The program’s goal is to reduce health risks linked to hazards in the home.

What Services are Provided?

The HHP Program provides services designed to eliminate health and safety hazards in homes:

  • Healthy Homes Assessment/Inspection: Each home enrolled in the program will undergo an inspection and interview process to identify and prioritize potential health risks.

  • Home Repairs: The program focuses on addressing common home hazards to promote healthier living environments. Repairs may include:

    • Pest control and management

    • Installation of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms

    • Plumbing system repairs

    • Gutter repair or replacement

    • Improvement of lighting conditions

    • Radon and mold remediation

    • Installation of exhaust fans

    • Repairs to stairs and installation of railings

    • Carpet removal and replacement

    • Minor structural repairs

    • Other necessary repairs to address code violations or promote the health and safety of residents.

The Chautauqua Healthy Homes Program is looking for qualified contractors to complete upcoming projects. To be eligible, contractors must hold a valid license and approval from the City of Jamestown. If you are a contractor interested in these opportunities, please reach out to the Program Manager for more information.
