JAMESTOWN, NY – April 9, 2024 – The City of Jamestown is pleased to announce the schedule for the 2024 Annual Action Plan Public Workshops. These workshops represent a cornerstone in our commitment to transparency and community engagement.
The Annual Action Plan serves as a platform designed to educate and inform our citizens about the objectives outlined in the 2020 – 2024 Consolidated Plan. It provides a comprehensive overview of the proposed actions, activities, and the allocation of federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), as well as Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and HOME funds, all earmarked to address priority needs and goals.
Two significant projects are proposed for the upcoming year: the Demo Rebuild Program and the Tenant-Based Renters Assistance Program (TBRA). We actively encourage public participation to share thoughts, comments, and concerns regarding these initiatives.
The workshops will run from April 4, 2024, through May, 2, 2024. Following their conclusion, we will convene for a Work Session on May 6, 2024, followed by a Public Hearing during the City Council Voting Session on May 20, 2024, held at the City Council Chambers in City Hall.
A public comment period will open on May 24, 2024 and extend until June 24, 2024. Subsequently, the Annual Action Plan will be submitted to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
