JAMESTOWN, NY – October 15, 2026 – Mayor Kimberly A. Ecklund and the City of Jamestown Department of Parks, Recreation & Conservation invite the community to celebrate Arbor Day 2026 as the City marks 45 years of recognition as a Tree City USA.
To commemorate this milestone, the City will plant five trees along the north shore of the Chadakoin Riverwalk, between the two pedestrian bridges, on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 1 p.m.
The planting will include three red maple trees and two serviceberry trees, adding to the City’s tree canopy and recognizing the importance of trees and green spaces in the community.
“Celebrating 45 years as a Tree City USA is a meaningful milestone for Jamestown,” said Mayor Kimberly A. Ecklund. “We are pleased to mark this occasion by planting five new trees along the Riverwalk for our community to enjoy for years to come.”
